The red harlequin that hears the walkway before it moves
A skeletal harlequin in red satin, with white diamond panels, a green-trimmed ruffle collar and yellow fright hair over a grinning bone face. The eyes light from inside the mask; the hands and feet are bare bone. At 48 inches it works beside the walkway, where people pass within arm's reach.

Why it holds up
Triggered by sound, not by wind
It listens for the group coming up the path, so it fires when someone is actually there. A gust down the street leaves it standing still, which is what keeps it from cycling all evening at an empty yard.
The light is already in it
The eyes glow from inside the mask, so you are not aiming a separate fixture at the lawn to make the face read after dark. One 120V cord to a covered outdoor outlet and the head is lit.
Meant to stay out all month
UV-stable materials and weather-shielded electronics mean it can stand from the first weekend of October to the last. No carrying it in at midnight and back out the next afternoon.

30 days from delivery, unused and in the box. Damaged on arrival: photo + order number and we replace it first.
