A two-foot zombie raccoon clawing its way out of the open end of a tipped-over, galvanized-look can, torn edges all around the opening. Plug it in and it moves on its own with built-in sound while the can lies there like the wind got to it. Set it by the curb or next to the driveway, where a knocked-over can already looks like it belongs.

The scene comes with it
Most animatronics need a setting. This one arrives with its own: a knocked-over can, the raccoon halfway out of the opening with torn edges around it. Drop it on the grass and it reads from the street with nothing else around it.
Slightly scary, on purpose
Two feet of grey fur, pink ears, red eyes and a mouthful of yellowed teeth. Enough to stop a six-year-old on the walkway, not enough to send them back to the car. Good front-of-lawn piece before the heavier stuff by the porch.
Wall power, not batteries
Runs off a standard 120V outlet. Run an outdoor extension cord along the edge of the lawn and you are done thinking about it, no battery swap halfway through the second wave of kids.

Halloween night, then the tote
Plug it in at dusk, point the open end of the can at the sidewalk and let it work while you hand out candy. Kids will lean in to check whether the raccoon is real; a few will decide it is. On November 1st it collapses flat and goes back in the tote with the rest of the lawn, ready for next year's curb.

Do I need to supply my own trash can?
No, and that is the point. Most animatronics need a setting you build for them. This one arrives with its own: a knocked-over galvanized-look can with torn edges around the opening, raccoon halfway out. Drop it on the grass and it reads from the street with nothing else around it.
How big is it?
Two feet of raccoon — grey fur, pink ears, red eyes and a mouthful of yellowed teeth — plus the can it is climbing out of. It is a front-of-lawn piece, sized to work before the heavier props by the porch.
Batteries or a cord?
A cord. It runs off a standard 120V outlet, so run an outdoor extension along the edge of the lawn and you are done thinking about it — no battery swap halfway through the second wave of kids.
Does it hold up outside?
It is built for outdoor use through the season, so it stays on the lawn rather than coming in every night. Keep the plug end of the cord up off wet grass, the way you would with any outdoor extension.
Is it too much for a six-year-old?
It sits at slightly scary on purpose. Enough to stop a kid on the walkway, not enough to send them back to the car. That is why it belongs at the curb rather than at the door.
Where should the can point?
Open end toward the sidewalk. Kids lean in to check whether the raccoon is real, and a few decide it is — which does not happen if they are looking at the closed bottom of a can.
