What sets him off?
Movement close by. He stays dark and quiet until somebody gets near, then the eye lights, the sound starts and the motor takes over.
Does he need batteries?
No. He runs on 120V from a plug, so there is no battery pack to quit mid-evening. Run an outdoor extension cord to the nearest outlet.
Does he stand on his own?
Yes. The feet sit on a black metal base frame, so he holds himself up as long as the ground is flat.
Is he all right for small children?
No. He is not for little kids, and the teeth back that up. Put him on the route the older crowd takes and leave a straight, well-lit path for the strollers.
