Why it holds up
The cord goes invisible at night
Black jacket, black sockets. After dusk the run reads as a line of floating orange, and in daylight it does not clutter the porch the way white wire does.
Orange that holds up to a streetlight
The glass is orange through the whole bulb, tip included, so the color comes from the bulb itself. Bright enough to read through streetlight glare, which is where a paler orange gives up by the time it reaches the curb.
