The eyes glow red and the robe is lit in an RGB swirl from the shoulders down. Plug it in beside the walkway or at the top of the driveway, wherever the trick-or-treaters bunch up.

Why it holds up
The booth is half the show
The stand is a gothic cathedral front: red stained-glass windows, quatrefoil tracery and two blue-lit spires with crosses on top. It comes up to the reaper's waist and carries its own glow, so the street sees a lit-up church front before it sees the skull.

Standard 120V plug, no battery packs to hunt for at 9 p.m. on the 31st. Run an outdoor-rated extension cord out to it, tuck the cord under the mulch, and it keeps working from dusk until you decide the night is over.
